MADE TO LAST FOREVER
In Chapter 4, Rick Warren addresses one of the most profound questions of life: What happens after we die? He emphasizes that life on earth is not all there is—we were made to last forever. Earthly life is described as a temporary assignment, a dress rehearsal for eternity. According to Warren, death is not the end but a transition into a new, eternal existence—either with God or separated from Him.
Warren teaches that understanding our eternal purpose radically changes how we live our lives now. He asserts that God has “planted eternity in the human heart” (Ecclesiastes 3:11), which explains our innate sense that life is meant to be more than what we see and experience.
Reflection
The Bible calls your earthly body a “tent” and refers to your future body as a “house”. As you know that a tent is temporal, while a house is permanent, that tells you that your life here on earth is temporary, Infact, it is a dress rehearsal even before the “real” life starts - so live INTENTIONALLY, live as if it’s your last day on earth, do not waste away your days.
It’s easy to get consumed by the temporary—deadlines, money, status, or even worries—but Warren’s message reminded us to live with an eternal mindset.
